The market recorded gains in the week ending session as the primary All Share Index firmed up 3.09% to 181,272.70pts while, the Blue-Chip Index rose 2.19% to 76,303.61pts.

Heavies anchor the market in Monday’s session... Heavies anchored the market in Monday’s trades, despite a slow trading session as anxiety of the upcoming 2024 fiscal policy continues to grow. The All-Share Index was 0.92% firmer at 182,945.06pts while, the Blue-Chip Index advanced 1.37% to 77,351.72pts spurred by Seedco Limited and Delta. The Agriculture Index was the major gainer amongst the indices we review as it went up 1.59% to 611.33pts while, the Mid Cap Index eked out narrow gains of 0.06% to settle at 815,062.27pts. Leading the market charge was seed producer SeedCo Limited that jumped rose 15.00% to $968.3000 on growing demand while, apparel retailer Edgars was 14.12% higher at $97.0000. Property concern Zimre Holdings Limited edged up 3.23% to end at $160.0000 as beverages producer Delta continued on a recovery path as it added 1.89% to close at a VWAP $3,179.4687. Hotelier Rainbow Tourism Group put on 1.31% to end at $140.5000 as it fastened the top five gainers of the day.
Econet highlights the session... Econet highlighted Tuesday’s session as its traded a circa 2.1m shares worth $1.5bn, claiming 63.64% of the volume outturn and 63.44% of the turnover. The other notable volume driver was sugar refiner Star Africa that claimed 11.88% of the total. Delta and FBC contributed a combined 23.84% of the value traded. Activity was depressed in the session as volume traded declined 63.13% to see 3.81m shares worth $2.53bn exchange hands. This represented a 38.61% retreat in the turnover traded. In the ETF category, only three funds were active in the session as the Morgan & Co Multi Sector ETF was 1.85% up at $419.6233. The Old Mutual Top Ten ETF parred off 0.68% to $30.8049 while, the Cass Saddle ETF was stable at $7.5000. A total of 27,785 units worth $1.88m traded in the session. The Tigere REIT closed 7.60% higher at $253.7188 as 421,228 units traded.
ZSE extend gains in month opener… The market started the last month of the year in black as the primary All share Index rose 0.50% to 192,223.42pts while, the Blue-Chip Index edged up 0.23% to 82,335.38pts. The Agriculture Index gained 0.54% to 613.69pts as the Mid Cap added 1.04% to 834,813.78pts. Life assurers First Mutual Holdings headlined the gainers of the day on a 5.00% jump followed by tea producers Tanganda that surged 4.38% to close at $1,000.0000 while, Ariston inched up 0.45% to $38.8421. Beverage giant Delta completed the top five winners of the day on a 0.40% uplift that took it to $3,522.1672.
The ZSE took a breather in the week opening session on the back of profit taking seen in selected counters across the board. As a result, the primary All Share Index slipped 0.20% to 191,844.90pts while, the ZSE Top Ten Index slid 0.30% to 82,088.5pts.
ZSE swings back into the red… The ZSE market reversed prior session’s gains to see the primary All Share Index dropping 0.34% to 191,185.20pts while, the Blue-Chip Index shed 0.97% to 81,293.96pts. The Agriculture Index fell 0.21% to 603.53pts while, the Mid Cap Index was the only gainer after putting on 0.91% to 842,538.58pts. Apparel retailer Edgars led the laggards of the day on a 11.79% retreat to close at $90.2485, followed by CBZ that dropped 7.83% to $1,990.9091. Tea producer Tanganda fell 3.16% to $957.7500 while, hotelier Meikles slipped 2.91% to $1,306.8947. Retailer OKZIM capped the top five fallers’ pack on a 1.33% slide to end the day pegged at $197.3305. Partially mitigating today’s losses was First Mutual Properties that firmed up 14.26% to $240.0000, trailed by Turnall Holdings that jumped 8.70% to close at $25.0000. Zimpapers climbed 7.18% to $26.7955 while, Ariston ticked up 6.38% to end the day pegged at $40.0000. General Beltings completed the top five winners list on a 3.64% uplift to $22.8000. The market closed with a positive breadth of one as eleven counters recorded gains against ten laggards.
ZSE eke out gains in midweek session… The ZSE eked out gains in midweek session as the mainstream All Share Index put on 0.20% to close at 191,561.61pts. The Mid Cap Index rose 0.83% to end at 849,516.12pts. Contrastingly, the ZSE Top Ten Index retreated 0.12% to 81,196.19pts and the ZSE Agriculture Index trimmed 0.13% to 602.72pts. Cable manufacturer Cafca surged 15.00% to $2,530.0000 while, Fidelity Life garnered 13.53% to $235.0000. Zimre holdings charged 12.50% to $180.0000 while, banking group CBZ jumped 5.30% to $2,096.5000 post announcement of executive changes in the group. Zimpapers capped the top five positive movers of the day on a 4.50% rise to $28.0000. On the downside was FBC that dipped 5.28% to $956.7059 while, retailer OKZIM shed 1.17% to $195.0228. Tea company Tanganda slid 0.81% to $950.0000 while, Delta lost 0.54% to $3,508.9445. Telecoms giant Econet tripped 0.49% to close the session at $723.1091.

The Agriculture Index added 0.46% to 605.51pts while, the Mid Cap Index gained 0.26% to 851,766.93pts. Banking group CBZ Holdings led the winners of the day on a 14.48% jump to close at $2,400.0000, followed by hotelier Meikles Limited that firmed up 3.06% to $1,346.0000. Sugar processors Hippo Valley climbed 2.42% to $1,900.0000 while, Zimre Holdings shot up 0.97% to settle at $181.7391. Tea producer Tanganda capped the top five best performers of the day on a 0.84% uplift to end the day pegged at $958.0000. On the contrary, fintech group Ecocash Holdings lost 3.19% to settle at $116.2339 while, seed producer Seed Co Limited slipped 0.58% to $860.0000 despite recording...
Thirteen bulls charged against two bears to leave the market with a positive breadth of eleven in end of week session. The mainstream All Share Index surged 2.25% to 197,660.65pts while, the ZSE Top Ten Index advanced 2.27% to 84,065.54pts.

The market closed with a negative breadth of four as six counters advanced against ten that declined. The Mid Cap Index gained 0.15% to 875,009.02pts while, on the contrary the Agriculture Index was 0.99% weaker at 599.35pts.
