Marginal gains on the ZSE… The ZSE market ended the day in marginal gains as the mainstream All Share Index rose 0.03% to 386.06pts. The Blue Chip Index improved 0.27% to end the day at 380.60pts. The ZSE Agriculture Index declined 1.22% to 321.64pts while, the Mid Cap Index slid 0.87% to 436.67pts. Leading the gainers’ pack was First Mutual Holdings that surged 15.00% to $1.9040. Trailing was ZSE Holdings that jumped 8.72% to $1.1980 as Star Africa improved 5.28% to settle at $0.0371. Beverages concern Delta gained 0.19% to end at a VWAP of $29.2376 while, SeedCo Limited added 0.05% to $4.0200. Trading in the negative territory was agriculture concern Ariston which tumbled 12.38% to $0.0600 while, tea company Tanganda plummeted 4.94% to $5.6647. General Beltings shed 4.55% to $0.1050 as Proplastics trimmed 2.58% to $1.2007. Mashonaland Holdings retreated 2.26% to land at $1.2709.

Gains in selected heavies lifts the ZSE… The market extended gains in mid-week session as selected heavies lifted the ZSE. The primary All Share Index put on 0.84% to 389.31pts while, the Blue Chip Index gained 1.07% to close at 384.67pts. The Agriculture Index firmed up 2.74% to 330.44pts while, on the contrary the Mid Cap Index lost 0.05% to 436.47pts. Mashonaland Holdings was the best performer of the day on a 14.88% surge to $1.4600, followed by milk processor Dairibord that charged 14.56% to $2.7075. Cigarette producer BAT charged 8.82% to close at $184.9998 while, Star Africa inched up 7.89% to $0.0400. Banking group CBZ Holdings capped the top five winners of the day on a 1.74% surge to $17.8000. FMP led the laggards of the day as it dipped 9.34% to $0.9061 while, sugar processor Hippo tumbled 1.27% to $10.8996. Tea producer Tanganda eased 0.99% to close at $5.6088 while, SeedCo came off 0.47% to $4.0011. TN Cybertech completed the worst performers of the day after a 0.34% decline that took the banker to $0.1441.

ZSE extends gains in penultimate session… The market extended gains in the penultimate session of the week as the primary All Share Index rose 1.79% to 396.26pts while, the Blue-Chip Index added 2.03% to 392.49pts. The Agriculture Index firmed up 0.03% to 330.54pts while, the Mid Cap Index went up 0.78% to 439.88pts. Mashonaland Holdings headlined the top performers of the day on a 14.96% jump to $1.6784, followed by FML that surged 14.09% to $2.1723. Banking group FBC Holdings charged 13.87% to close at $11.4434 while, Dairibord ticked up 8.78% to $2.9452. Brick maker Willdale capped the top five gainers of the day on a 6.67% uplift to $0.0400. Trading in the negative territory was BAT that dropped 4.26% to $177.1146, trailed by TN Cybertech that fell 2.79% to $0.1401. Tanganda came off 1.05% to settle at $5.5497 while, FMP trimmed 0.67% to $0.9000. Seed producer SeedCo capped the laggards of the day on a 0.03% loss to end pegged at $4.0000.

ZSE register losses in Friday’s session… The market ended the week in losses as the primary All Share Index lost 1.93% to 388.60pts while, the Blue-Chip Index fell 2.35% to 383.26pts. The Agriculture Index dropped 4.02% to 317.25pts while, the Mid Cap Index eased 0.25% to 438.79pts. BAT led the laggards of the day on a 13.11% drop to $153.9016 while, CBZ Holdings tumbled 4.48% to $17.0022. Tea producer Tanganda declined 2.83% to close at $5.3929 as Delta slipped 2.19% to $28.7114. Meikles completed the worst performers of the day on a 1.87% retreat to $2.9438. Partially mitigating today’s losses was Proplastics that surged 7.78% to $1.2941, followed by CBZ that firmed up 6.70% to $1.2803. TN Cybertech went up 3.48% to settle at $0.1450 while, Nampak inched up 0.29% to $0.8625. FBC Holdings capped the best performers of the day on 0.06% lift to $11.4500. Activity aggregates declined in the session as volumes dropped 72.96% to 1.24m shares while, turnover shed 74.56% to $10.82m. Top volume drivers of the day were Willdale (40.75%), Delta (18.99%) and Star Africa (10.13%). Delta and BAT were the most traded stocks in terms of value after contributing 62.45% and 17.36% respectively. The Tigere REIT declined 0.52% to end the day pegged at $1.0312 after 16.67m units exchanged in the session.

Heavies lift the market in week opener… Selected heavy cap counters lifted the market in the new week as the mainstream All Share Index went up 2.17% to close at 397.05pts while, the Blue Chips Index added 2.69% to 393.57pts. The Mid Cap Index was up 0.27% at 439.98pts with the Agriculture Index closing stable at 317.26pts. The top gaining stock was logistics concern Unifreight that surged 14.67% to $1.7200. Following was banking group CBZ that jumped 5.87% to $18.0000 with beverages concern Delta charging 3.59% to $29.7424 on resurging demand. General Beltings edged up 2.38% to $0.1075 while, milk processor Dairibord capped the top five winners of the day on a 1.86% uplift to $3.0000. Agriculture concern Ariston was the top decliner of the day after a 3.47% retreat that took it to $0.0608. Trailing was insurer First Mutual Holdings that trimmed 1.45% to $2.1408 as Zimre Holdings shed 1.18% to $0.6818. Tea company Tanganda went down 0.56% to $5.3628 while, AFDIS slipped 0.12% to close at $15.7813.

ZSE Holdings highlights the session… Exchange operator ZSE Holdings highlighted the session as circa 10.73m shares worth $13.94m exchanged hands in the session. The trade represented 10.44% of the company’s issued shares. ZSE Holdings accounted for 97.51% of the volume traded and 85.59% of the turnover. Other notable value drivers were Delta and CBZ with respective contributions of 7.38% and 5.96%. A total of 11.00m shares worth $16.29m exchanged hands in the session. The Revitus REIT was 2.84% firmer at $2.2110 while, the Tigere REIT added 0.14% to $1.0517. A total of 20,370 units worth $22,674.45 traded in the category.
