Heavies weigh the market in the last session of October … Heavies weighed down the market in the last session of the month as the All-Share Index declined 1.09% to 289.12pts. The Blue-Chip was 2.94% weaker at 302.87pts while, the Mid Cap Index was 4.73% firmer at 267.81pts. The Agriculture Index was 4.68% to end higher at 232.42pts. Beverages producer Delta led the laggards of the day as it parred off 7.05% to $20.0363 as 641,800 shares exchanged hands in the name. Trailing was sugar refiner Star Africa that dropped 4.30% to $0.0216 while, retailer OK Zimbabwe eased 3.49% to $0.9458. Seed company SeedCo Limited trimmed 0.54% to close at a VWAP of $5.2495 while, telecommunication company Econet slipped 0.19% to settle at $4.8110.

ZSE register gains for the fifth consecutive session… The ZSE market recorded gains for the fifth time in a row as the primary All Share Index put on 0.69% to 292.31pts while, the Blue-Chip Index fell 0.08% to 312.03pts. The Agriculture Index went up 3.47% to 222.04pts as the Mid Cap Index gained 2.35% to 255.72pts. Tea producer Tanganda headlined the top performers of the day on a 15.00% jump to $3.0820, followed by retailer OK Zimbabwe that surged 14.76% to $0.9800. Cigarette manufacturer BAT ticked up 10.06% to $105.0000 while, Star Africa charged 7.67% to close at $0.0226. Nampak completed the top five gainers of the day on a 6.50% upsurge to end the day pegged at $1.3100. Trading in the negative territory was FMP that dropped 4.74% to $0.7573, followed by life assurer Fidelity that fell 4.37% to $1.1500. General Beltings shed 4.15% to $0.0600 while, telecoms giant Econet eased 1.71% to $4.8201. Meikles capped the laggards of the day on a 0.09% retreat to end the day pegged at $4.5600. The market closed with a positive breadth of four as eleven counters recorded gains against seven that faltered.
Delta highlights the session… Delta highlighted Tuesday’s session after circa 1.68m shares worth $36.25m exchanged hands in the name. The trade accounted for 50.13% of the total volumes traded and 81.55% of turnover. The other notable counter to trade was Econet that traded about 1.20m shares worth $5.93m. The trade in the telecoms giant claimed 35.99% of the volumes traded and 13.35% of the value outturn.
ZSE records gains in week opening session… The ZSE market recorded gains in the week opening session as the primary All Share Index rose 0.95% to 284.02pts while, the Blue-Chip Index added 0.24% to 305.12pts. The Agriculture Index put on 2.55% to 207.93pts while, the Mid Cap Index gained 3.52% to 242.54pts. Tea producer Tanganda headlined the top performers of the day on a 14.99% jump to $2.3550, followed by Mash Holdings that surged 13.50% to $1.7025. Construction company Masimba charged 12.01% to $2.9739 while, retailer Ok Zimbabwe firmed up 11.14% to close at $0.9447.
