The market’s top capitalised stocks succumbed to a market sell off that saw the Top Ten Index emerge as the worst performer amongst the benchmarks posting a 4.16% decline week on week to 113.77pts. The market losses come on the back of appeals from the newly appointed finance minister to business and traders alike to accept the country’s surrogate currency, Bond Notes, in the wake of its weakness following his comments in the prior week that they will be phased out soon.
