NMB highlights the market…
Banking group NMB highlighted today’s session as circa 5.03m shares worth $18.61m exchanged hands on the ZSE. The trades accounted for 68.93% of the total volumes exchanged and 82.99% of the value aggregate. The other notable volume driver was Nampak which claimed 13.64% of the volume aggregate. Volumes traded soared 99.78% to 7.30m shares while, turnover surged 90.55% to $22.43m. Datvest MCS was stable at $0.0300 on 2,665 units. The Tigere REIT added 0.15% to $1.3357 as 4,731 units exchanged hands in the session.
Milk processor Dairibord and sugar processor Hippo Valley Estates were the worst performers of the day having lost an identical 14.97% to close at $1.5135 and $5.0417 respectively. Sugar refiner Star Africa shed 9.72% to $0.0496 on weakening demand while, General Beltings dropped 4.55% to $0.1050 as selling pressure persists in the name. Zimre Holdings Limited completed the top five losers of the day on a 1.63% decline to settle at $0.2558 on the back of waning demand. Trading in the positive was Nampak that charged 9.71% to $0.9874 with Ecocash Holdings following on a 2.45% jump that took it $0.1384, albeit it closing well offered. ART Corporation Limited grew 0.29% to $0.1710 while, Turnall went up 0.28% to $0.0704. Telecoms giant Econet capped the top five gainers of the day on a 0.11% uplift to end pegged at $3.8057 where supply could be found. The All-Share Index fell 0.35% to 197.46pts while, the Blue-Chip Index retreated 0.33% to 192.61pts. The Agriculture Index parred off 3.95% to 158.65pts while, the Mid Cap eased 0.43% to 238.54pts. There was no foreign participation registered in today’s session.
