MARKET COMMENT 01.08.2025

ZSE starts new month on positive note… 
ZSE market started the new month of August on a positive note as the All-Share Index rose by 1.32% to 208.42pts while, the ZSE Top 10 Index edged up 1.79% to 203.47pts. The 
Agriculture Index ticked up 3.16% to 184.01pts while, on the contrary the Mid Cap Index trimmed 0.41% to 248.00pts. BAT headlined the gainers’ list of the day having gained 11.75% to settle at $103.4463 as beverages producer Delta followed on a 4.03% jump to close at $13.8337. Dairy producer Dairibord added 2.15% to $1.3300 while, retailer OKZIM grew 0.55% to $0.2100. Unifreight completed the top five winners list of the day on a 0.50% uplift to end pegged at $1.2060. Trading in the negative was Ariston that parred off 7.73% to finish at $0.0321. FML followed on a 1.81% retreat to close at $1.6300 while, telecoms giant Econet tumbled 0.40% to land at $4.600. ZB Financial Holdings and Hippo Valley Estates capped the worst performers list of the day on a modest identical loss of 0.01% to close at $3.4125 and $6.4995 respectively.  
 
Activity aggregates improved in the new month session as turnover ballooned 686.71% to $36.48m while, volumes traded soared 1736.11% to 470.14m shares. OKZIM LAs and 
TN Cybertech drove the volumes traded as the duo claim a combined 98.79% of the total. The value drivers of the day were Econet (70.73%), TN Cybertech (19.72%) and OKZIM (8.87%). In the ETF category, Cass Saddle was stable at $0.1295 as 1,000 units exchanged hands while, Datvest MCS increased 5.61% to $0.0296 as 35,000 units traded in the session. The Tigere REIT fell 5.68% to $1.3200 on 3.35m units while, the Revitus REIT added 8.05% to $0.8725 as 5,391 units exchanged hands.
