ZSE upbeat in penultimate session...
ZSE gains persisted into the penultimate session of the month. The mainstream All Share Index rose 0.64% to close at 210.06pts while, the ZSE Top Ten Index went up 0.53% to close at 206.36pts. The ZSE Agriculture Index grew 3.35% to 173.88pts while, the Mid Cap Index added 1.08% to end at 244.63pts. Cigarette manufacturer BAT led the risers of the day after a 14.95% surge that took it to $108.0000. Trailing was Zimre Holdings that extended 14.75% to settle at $0.2295 as Star Africa notched up 11.34% to $0.0350. Mashonaland Holdings moved up 3.93% to $1.4726 while, banking group NMB capped the top five winners of the day on a 2.50% uplift to $4.1000. TSL was the major casualty of the day having declined 14.97% to close at $1.3260 while, OK Zimbabwe dropped 3.42% to $0.2031. Econet shed 2.22% to $4.7821 having traded an intraday low of $4.7000. TN Cybertech trimmed 1.02% to $0.1089 while, ZB Holdings let go 0.51% to settle at $3.0000.
The market closed with a negative breadth of two as seven counters gained against five that faltered. Activity aggregates were depressed in the session as volumes dipped 16.39% to 886,800 shares while, turnover tumbled 61.61% to $2.03m. The top volume drivers of the day were TSL and NMB that claimed 60.35% and 22.55% apiece. Turnover was anchored by NMB (40.46%), TSL (35.02%) and Econet (16.47%). The Tigere REIT edged up 9.50% to $1.9986 on 92,648 units while, the Revitus REIT was stable at $1.0000 on 28 units.
