Milk production rises 7% in eight months to Aug

Milk production increased 6.83% in the eight months to August to 63.05 million litres from 59.02 million in the comparable year ago period, latest figures from the Ministry of Agriculture show. Month on month, output rose to its highest total in the year to date at 8.82 million litres from 8.33 million in the previous month, an increase of 5.9%. The dairy sector is optimistic that output will reach 100 million litres from the 91.4 million achieved last year.
